OUR GEELONG PODIATRISTS TALK ABOUT NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY.
February 11, 2019OUR GEELONG PODIATRISTS TALK ABOUT NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY.
Thursday 14th February is National Wear Red Day to raise awareness and funding for heart disease. Did you know Heart Disease is the single leading cause of death for Australians and kills almost three times as many women as breast cancer. There are many risk factors for heart disease and the good news is for most of the risk factors you can do something about them.
Regular moderate exercise is great for your heart health. Staying active makes you less likely to have a heart attack or develop heart disease. It also helps control other heart disease factors like high blood pressure, increased cholesterol and being overweight.
Australian guidelines recommend 30-45 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity most days of the week. A brisk walk is a great way to achieve this. If you are considering starting a walking program, our Geelong Podiatrists can give you the right advice and assess your footwear. Prevention of injuries is important to keep you active and an assessment with our Geelong Podiatrists will keep you on your feet. Contact us now for an appointment 52430130 to get you active and keep your heart healthy.
