Your Geelong Podiatrists at Podiatry@Belmont are excited to announce the offering of a specialty service for our patients that are experiencing heel pain. The Geelong Advanced Heel Pain Clinic has been conceptualised by our own podiatrist, Dr Andrew McMillan.

Dr McMillan is an advanced musculoskeletal podiatrist, which allows him to provide a comprehensive, patient centred approach to your heel pain. He has special expertise with the treatment of heel pain as his PhD focused on diagnostic imaging and ultrasound-guided cortisone injection for plantar fasciitis. He also specialises in the treatment of degenerative soft tissue disorders and osteoarthritis, tendinopathy and pain arising from flat or high arched feet.

The Geelong Advanced Heel Pain Clinic is equipped with a state of the art ultrasound unit that optimises imaging of the foot and ankle. Patients with chronic forms of plantar fasciitis may benefit from ultrasound-guided cortisone injection. If this is required, Andrew performs the heel injection under an ankle nerve block which is provided beforehand. Thereby, ensuring the comfort of Podiatry@Belmont patients during the procedure.
