General Clinic Information
Where is podiatry@belmont located?
Our clinic is located in Belmont, Victoria, serving Greater Geelong, Highton, Grovedale, and surrounding Surf Coast and Bellarine suburbs.
Do I need a GP referral to visit podiatry@belmont?
No. Private patients do not require a doctor’s referral to see our podiatrists.
What payment methods do you accept?
Our podiatry clinic accepts cash, Eftpos, Visa and Mastercard.  As we are a private practice, payment is required at the time of consultation.
Can I claim my visit on private health insurance?
Yes. We offer on-site HICAPS claiming for all major private health funds with podiatry extras cover.
What are your clinic opening hours and locations?
We operate Monday 9:00 am to 6pm, Tuesday 9.00am to 5pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9:00am to 3pm.

Government Schemes & Subsidies
Does Medicare cover podiatry services in Victoria?
A Medicare rebate may be claimed (if eligible) for a Chronic Disease Management plan. Your GP must create this plan and provide you with a correctly formatted signed referral.
Do you accept NDIS and DVA participants?
Yes. We treat self-managed and service provider managed NDIS participants. We also accept Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) gold card holders with a GP referral.
Are your services covered by WorkSafe Victoria or TAC?
No, we don’t provide services for WorkSafe or TAC.

What should I bring to an assessment for foot orthoses consultation?
Bring your everyday shoes, work shoes, and athletic footwear. Please also bring any previous X-rays or scan reports.
Can you fix an ingrown toenail permanently?
Yes. We perform minor in-clinic surgical procedures under local anaesthetic. This permanently removes the offending nail edge.
When should my child see a podiatrist and what conditions do you treat?
You should book an appointment if your child complains of foot or leg pain, trips frequently, walks unevenly, or has visible skin issues. Children’s feet develop rapidly, and early assessment can prevent long-term alignment problems.We treat a wide range of pediatric conditions, including:
  • Developmental Issues: Flat feet, in-toeing (pigeon-toed), out-toeing, and toe-walking.
  • Growth Plate Concerns: Calcaneal Apophysitis (heel pain previously known as Sever’s) and other osteochrondosis.
  • Gait and Structural Anomalies: Frequent tripping, clumsy walking, and knock-knees.
  • Skin and Nail Conditions: Painful ingrown toenails, plantar warts (verrucae), and athlete’s foot.
  • Sports Injuries: Ankle sprains, shin pain, and sporting injuries.

Preparing For Your Visit
What should I bring with me to my first visit?
Please bring the following with you:
  • List of current medications and/or medical history.
  • Relevant medical imaging for your condition/past xrays,scans or ultrasounds.
  • Any previous orthoses or insoles.
  • A selection of your footwear, including runners, work shoes and everyday shoes so we can offer footwear advice.  Please do not attend to your first appointment wearing thongs, unless thongs are your everyday footwear choice.
What happens during my first podiatry appointment?

On your initial consultation a thorough and comprehensive assessment will be conducted with one of our specialised podiatrists. This generally includes:

  • Considering your medical history.
  • Assessing your complaint.
  • A full gait analysis if applicable.
  • Arriving at a diagnosis.
  • Creating a treatment plan.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.
We charge a $55 cancellation fee if less than 24 hours notice is given.
